Materials for construction for the new mechanical penthouse were transferred to the roof by crane with minimal impact on hospital operations.

Nelson Associates provided structural engineering services for the renovation of the existing 4th floor space to accommodate new cardiac surgery and intensive care facilities. Operating Room space design required removal of two primary building columns. The work included design and engineering of building column removals, two new mechanical penthouses, equipment supports, bearing wall removals, and roof structure reinforcement.


 

 

 

 

Structural support of sophisticated cardiac care operating room equipment was designed under stringent performance specifications.
